  1. Hi Nazella!

It's great to see that you have posted another blog for the Summer Learning Journey. I love that you have sourced such cool facts about my home country of Canada. It really is a huge place - second only to Russia in physical size. When I go home it takes me almost 7 hours to fly from one end of the country to the other. Here in New Zealand, it would take about 2 hours to fly from the tip of the north island to the bottom of the south island :)

I also love that you have made reference to our police officers. They work very hard to keep the country safe. I can honestly say that I did not know that police officers give out 'positive' tickets. I'll have to ask my mom and dad if they have ever been given a positive ticket. I love the idea of it!

Keep up the great, positive blogging Nazella :)

    Cheers,
    Rachel

  5. Kia ora Nazella,

Well done on posting another blog on your Summer Learning Journey! I'm really enjoying learning all sorts of interesting things from all of the different blogs I've been lucky enough to read.

I think positive tickets are such a good idea! What do you think about them? I wish we did something like that here too. Instead of only punishing bad behaviour, we start to reward good behaviour too as an added incentive. Think about what it's like in class for you, does your teacher only tell off students who are being naughty? Or does she reward students who show good behaviour as well? This can be with things like compliments, encouragement, or extra help, those kinds of rewards that really make you feel good in class :-)

The Niagara Falls are the biggest waterfalls in the world. Would you want to visit them on your journey to Canada? They sure would be an unbelievable sight to see. Have you ever been to the Huka Falls near Taupo in the North Island? Whilst they're not anywhere near as big as those in Canada, they're pretty amazing! If you haven't seen them, here's a link for you to take a look.

I'll pop back again soon, and hopefully you've added a few more blogs to your learning journey. I would love to read them!

    Until next time,
    Dan.
