Today at tech, we were making shapes with compasses. We made flowers, stars, and cubes with circles. It was fun and difficult since it was hard getting the perfect circle. I think I have improved with using compasses because I know that I should hold the black top to control the compass.
I am a Year8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Mince And Cheese Pies - Tech @ Tamaki Collage
This week for tech, we finished our mince and cheese pies. Last week we made our pie fillings, today we added our ingredients together into our pastry. We added our mince, and cheese. We were able to create some very cool icons for the top of our pie. I would defiantly make these pies at home, because they turn out delicious.

Tech @ Tamaki College - Potato salad and salmon kebab sticks
Today my Tech group (Zahra, Oh Hsen, Sa Kae, and me) made fish kebab and potato salad. We started off by grabbing all our ingredients, we first grabbed a bowl with some potatoes and spring onion. We then diced these and cautiously put it in our pot with boiling water. We then took the bones out of our salmon. We then put our salmon on a kebab stick with some vegetables. The end result was delicious.

Straw Rockets
Last week on Friday LS2 spent the whole day at Tamaki college to learn and make rockets. We learnt how to make straw rockets. This is my procedural writing for making a straw rocket. After making rockets, Ms Ferguson flew her rocket 'Carrot' that she 3D printed, it flew up perfectly, but dissapered! It was very fun! I also added a collage of what happened at Tamaki college.
Thank you to Ms Ferguson, and Mr Dunn for putting so much effort for Friday!

Rocket Learning at Tamaki College
Last week, on Friday LS2 went to Tamaki College to build paper models of rockets. We first tried making the straw rockets, using drinking straws, tape, and scissors. Our teachers Ms Ferguson and Mr Dunn taught and guided us through the process. For the first straw rocket we had no fins to see our distance, we then added more and more fins and saw that there was a difference since we added fins. I learned that the more fins you add, the further it goes.

3D Shapes
Today for tech, we were learning about the different 3D shapes, we learnt how to make a cube. We made a cube using an isometric paper to make a cube with the lines. The trick is to get a piece of white plain paper and put it on top of the isometric paper and make a cube with it by simply adding three lines together to make a diamond shape, then adding four lines together so that it can be a 3D cube.

We also learnt how to pass a knife and also talked about knife safety. We cut the fruit in small pieces and put it in our measuring bowl, we then cut the chocolate chips into halves and added some chocolate pudding and it was complete! It was the best fruit salads. Everyone was happy to feast, it was so fruity and scrumptious.

Smoothies at Tech

Today at tech we made smoothies. We went to the classroom T9 because Mrs Hekka was away so we had a different teacher. We first had to get some frozen berries and get a cup of milk and also a flavored yogurt. We had to put everything inside the measuring bowl and steer everything together. We then received a blender from group number 3, we put everything from the measuring bowl into the blender and waited for 5 minutes. We then put all of it in our cups and drank, fruity!
