Ratio Problem Solving - Shakaia, Ofa, Sanujan, Nazella

This week for maths, Shakaia, Ofa, Sanujan and I were solving a ratio problem. This wasn't a challenging problem, because we all worked together as a team and shared our understanding. Question 3 was a tricky question because we didn't know what to do to the 517 to find Ofa and A.J.'s amount.

Screencastify Learning

LS2 has been learning how to showcase their learning using Screencastify. Ms. Grant came to LS2 and explained what a Screencastify was and how it works. A Screencastify records your screen, while you're talking about what you are showcasing. First, we had to make a script, so we knew what we were going to say. I made a Screencastify showing how to find fractions of an amount. This was a very interesting way to show my learning. Next time, I will defiantly try to use Screencastify more often, because it was very fun talking about my learning.

E-ako Maths - Multiplication and Division

Today for e-ako maths, I focused on my multiplication and division. I played a game which asks me multiplication and division questions which needs to be answered in 1 minute. Next time, I should work on harder and more challenging activities.

World of Maths

Yesterday Charles from the World of Maths came to Panmure Bridge School. He brought some fun games that were based on maths. We were split into groups with LS2 and LS1 students, in my group were; Mishaan, Fifita, Alice, and Sakina. The first game that my group played was Mouse in the House. Mouse in the House was challenging our logic and reasoning skills. My favorite game was Which Way Home. This game was challenging my addition facts. It was easy, but very fun because everyone joined in. What I enjoyed most about yesterday was the amount of teamwork and collaboration.

Adding Fractions

Today for our maths game, we focused on adding fractions. To add fractions, you have to make sure that your denominator is the same, for an example: 1/3 and 2/3. Then you have to add the top numbers, also known as the numerator. 1/3 + 2/3 is 3/3 because 1 + 2 = 3.

Fractions to Decimals

Today for maths, I played a fractions and decimals game. This game taught me how to change fractions to decimals, for an example: 4 1/2 would be 4.5 in decimal. If it were 3 1/4, in decimals it would be 3.25.
