This week while we were looking at poems I learnt about metaphors. Metaphors is when you compare an object with another object or action. I learnt that you shouldn't take a metaphor literal. Eg: The boy was a cheetah. This compares the boy with a cheetah which could probably mean the boy is fast.
I am a Year8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Maui Haiku - Poetry
This is the Haiku that Brooklyn and I made. A Haiku is a Japanese traditional poem. Haiku poems have three lines in each verse, the first and last line has 5 syllables, while the middle line has 7 syllables. A syllable is like a chunk, you can find a syllable by clapping out the word. Eg: Be-cause.
Language Features - Poetry
Yesterday we were looking at the language features in a poem. We were focusing on verbs, synonyms and metaphors.

Colour Poem - Grey
This is my poem of Grey
Grey is sadness.
Grey is the sound of thunder growling at the sky.
Grey is the smell of the smoke coming out of the chimney.
Grey is the sight of dull wallpaper on your walls.
Grey is mad

I am poem
I am Poem
I am royal and zany.
I wonder if on Fridays I have Golden time?
I hear the cicadas singing
I always see people learning new things
I pretend to be a police
I feel something fizzy
I am good at reading and working out
I worry that there is a earthquake coming to new zealand
I say that i am going to be a police women
I understand that I am healthy
I dream that I will not be bully
I try to be a gymnastic girl
I hope I have a nice year in room 5
I wish I was really fit
I am Nazella
