In maths we were turning fractions and decimals into a whole with different ways. I turned fractions into decimals and decimals into fractions because I know how to convert them.
I am a Year8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Fractions to Decimals
Today for maths, I played a fractions and decimals game. This game taught me how to change fractions to decimals, for an example: 4 1/2 would be 4.5 in decimal. If it were 3 1/4, in decimals it would be 3.25.

Ordering Fractions and Decimals
Today for maths we played a game which challenged us on our knowledge with ordering fractions and decimals. The game was really fun and very helpful with recalling my fractions and decimals ordering.

Thinkboard - Decimals
Here is my thinkboard to a maths problem. We had to make a diagram, a word problem, similar questions that answers to 7.8 and our thinking. I really enjoyed using the thinkboard, it was very fun. Our focus was on adding decimals this week. I really hope we do many more thinkboards in the future.

Decimals
This week for maths, our focus was decimals, and ordering them. Our LI is: Learning about decimals in one place. We understood that decimals are like fractions because you are cutting a whole. Firstly, we had to use a decimal line in our maths book. We had decimals given like: 0.9 or 1.2, so we colored the amount in. We then moved onto ordering decimals. Ordering decimals was a little bit alike to ordering fractions so it was a little bit easy.

Fractions/Decimals Game
This week we were practicing our number knowledge for our IKAN test. We had to play some games which fits our level, I had to learn more about decimals and fractions. In this game, me (player 1) and Zeba (player 2) played. We had 6 questions each and if we put the incorrect answer in, our points decreased. I really improved on fractions but I think I need to practice more.
